Buffs basketball is nearly back. Evan Battey and Jabari Walker have moved on to the professional ranks while Elijah Parquet and Keeshawn Barthelemy hit the transfer portal leaving this year’s team with plenty of questions to answer. Who will jump in and fill the leadership void left by Battey? Who will lead the team in scoring? Do the Buffs have…...

BOULDER — After an emotional victory on Saturday against Arizona, Colorado will be back in action on Monday. This week, the Buffaloes will face three conference opponents, starting with a rescheduled game against Oregon State in Boulder. The matchup comes less than 48 hours after the Buffs won an up-and-down game against the rival Wildcats, in which CU held a 19-point…...

BOULDER — At last, the day has come.

At 6 p.m., the Colorado Buffaloes will tip-off their 2020-2021 basketball season, taking on South Dakota in round one of the inaugural Little Apple Classic.

While taking on two inferior opponents on paper, the Buffs have a great chance to iron out early mistakes and build chemistry among this fairly young team. With games against South Dakota, Colorado should come away from this week undefeated while still learning a lot about this roster.

Here are three things to watch for this week:

BOULDER — With snow becoming more frequent and temperatures dropping, only one thing comes to mind: college basketball is back.

In a year unlike any other, 2020 has brought its share of woes. It feels like just yesterday that college basketball postseason festivities were cancelled out of the blue.

And what was one of the last completed college basketball game, you may ask? A Colorado Buffaloes loss in the first round of the Pac-12 Tournament. A loss that completed a five-game skid for the Buffs after a very promising campaign.

Since this was the last time anyone saw Colorado compete, it makes sense to temper expectations for a squad that skyrocketed up rankings during the season just to lose all momentum in the final month.

But there is hope – the 2020-2021 Colorado Buffaloes may just be stronger top-to-bottom than before, and they're primed to put together another 20-win season and return to the big dance.

At what was supposed to be a neutral-site, Dayton fans flooded the United Center to take over the Chicago Legends showcase. Although they came with high spirits, they will head back to Ohio with the image of a buzzer-beating game-winner fresh in their minds. Colorado, looking to build off its dominant win against Prairie View just two nights ago, needed…...

College basketball season tipped-off with a bang Friday night in China as the Colorado Buffaloes took on the Arizona State Sun Devils. The Buffs avoided a second-half comeback attempt to win 81-71 victory. The Buffs controlled the tempo for the majority of the game, and have a lot to build on as they head back to Boulder.

BOULDER — "The heart of a champion," "The heart of a lion," "The straw that stirs the drink."

No matter what phrase head coach Tad Boyle used to describe his star player during Buffaloes' basketball media day back on Oct. 16, one point was driven home clearly—McKinley Wright is looking to drive this team to new heights.

Boyle is entering his tenth season as head coach at Colorado and believes this team is prepared to build off of last years' late-season success, leading fans to wonder just how much this team can accomplish.
