Marvin Mims made the first splash in the competition for reps behind Jaylen Waddle and Courtland Sutton on Friday.
On the first day of Denver Broncos training camp, Mims flew up the sideline in front of a grandstand packed with 1,000 fans. He gained a step or two on Riley Moss, and quarterback Bo Nix found him 50 yards downfield to convert a 3rd & 12.
Those big plays are what make Mims special… and what could. Help him see the field more in his fourth season as a Bronco.
“He’s demonstrated it time-in and time-out,” head coach Sean Payton said of the 23-year-old’s big-play ability. “There’s a lot of confidence that he plays with. He has that top-end speed, but his strength is locating the ball when it’s down the field 50 yards or 40 yards. He does that really well.”
The 50-yard bomb wasn’t the only big play Mims made on Friday.
