George Paton and Nathaniel Hackett explained what roles Nik Bonitto and Greg Dulcich will have in 2022.
Broncos GM George Paton admitted that he considered moving up for both NIk Bonitto and Greg Dulcich. “We were tempted, and we had a lot of conversations,” he said. “And it just worked out where we didn’t have to trade up.”
If Dulcich can refine his work as a run blocker, he could work his way into extensive playing time as soon as his rookie season as the Broncos look to fill the void created by the loss of Noah Fant in the Russell Wilson trade.
”You just can’t have enough pass rushers,” George Paton said six days before the NFL Draft. And he backed that up by selecting Oklahoma edge rusher Nik Bonitto with the No. 64 overall pick.
George Paton and the Broncos enter the 2022 NFL Draft with nine picks. But after the blockbuster trade for Russell Wilson, Denver doesn't have a pick in the first round. In fact, their first pick isn't until the final pick of the second round.
Here's everything you need to know about the Broncos' 2022 draft.

Melvin Gordon was not on the practice field as the Broncos concluded their three-day voluntary-veteran minicamp Wednesday. But he was very much in the conversation.

“I'm used to being with a position group and really grinding with them and stuff,” new Broncos defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero said after Day 2 of the Broncos’ voluntary veteran minicamp.
Being a head coach & a franchise QB is certainly more than enough work and responsibility.
But not for Nathaniel Hackett and Russell Wilson.
They're both loading their plate up even more in an attempt to turn the Broncos back into a winning franchise.
“I talk about flexibility all the time, but we can take the best player,” Broncos GM George Paton said. “We can move up. We can move down. So, I really think we’re in a good spot heading into the draft.”
The Broncos have a unique opportunity to address one of their biggest needs with a deep 2022 edge class.
From power-heavy prospects to add to the rotation or the next electrifying bender off the edge, the Broncos will have options on Day 2 and beyond.
The Broncos’ defensive nomenclature is different under new defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero. But after spending five seasons under Vic Fangio, Evero has plenty of concepts drawn from the Broncos’ former coach.
Outside of potentially Russell Wilson, no player on the Broncos is more accustomed to championship standards than Pat Surtain II.
After a one-year hiatus, Surtain knows championship standards are back in his life, this time with the Broncos.
What was George Paton's best addition this offseason, outside of acquiring Russell Wilson?
Was it Randy Gregory?
D.J. Jones?
Nathaniel Hackett?
After a great rookie campaign full of electrifying and punishing runs, Javonte Williams earned the right to lead the Broncos backfield in 2022. With Melvin Gordon remaining unsigned, it seems to me that George Paton and the Broncos have their eyes set on the NFL Draft to add to their running back room. The headliners of this year’s running back…
