Fat Lever, a 6-foot-3 guard from Pine Bluff, Arkansas, compensated for his lack of size with quickness and a seemingly endless supply of energy. Nikola Jokic, a 7-foot center from Sombor, Serbia, makes up for his lack of leaping…...

Eleven months of anticipation and speculation finally came to an end Feb. 13 when Isaiah Thomas traded in his street clothes for a Nuggets jersey and made his Denver debut playing 13 minutes in a 120-118 win over the Sacramento Kings. Thomas has now played three games with the Nuggets and while he’s shown a fair amount of rust, something...

IT’S THE WEEK OF AUGUST 13, 2018, six weeks before training camp would open, and over 1,400 miles away from the Nuggets’ practice court, the foundation for Denver’s 2018-19 season was laid. The venue was Paul Millsap’s state-of-the-art Core 4 facility in Atlanta, Georgia where for one week Denver moved its entire basketball operations department. During the day, spirited 5-on-5 games were played across every inch of Millsap’s 44,000 square foot warehouse under the watchful eye of the Nuggets’ coaching staff. At night, team dinners and group outings gradually helped to build the tight-knit chemistry and comradery that would hopefully carry Denver to its first playoff appearance since the 2012-13 season. It wasn’t an accident that every member of the…

Three nuggets for the three-game losing streak that came to an end Monday. Denver beat Miami 103-87 in its second-to-last game before the All-Star break. 1. Pretend Paul Millsap got his memory wiped “Men in Black” style before Monday’s game. Indulge me for a second. Millsap might’ve been confused to see the large Serbian man on his team dominating his...

Coincidence or not, Denver’s best defensive game in weeks came with the Nuggets’ defensive captain back in the lineup. Paul Millsap, who missed the last three games with ankle soreness, watched helplessly from the sidelines as the Nuggets gave up 129, 135 and 117 points to the Pistons, Nets and 76ers as Denver’s defense continued to plummet from the top-5...

Coming off a three-game losing streak and with the All-Star break less than a week away, Michael Malone knew the importance of tonight’s matchup against the Heat. “Our sense of urgency has to be at a season high tonight, having lost three games in a row,” Malone said an hour and a half before tip. But it wasn’t the start Denver’s...

Seven nuggets for seven 3-pointers the Nets drained in the second quarter of their 135-130 win over the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday. 1. It doesn’t take much to get a good look against the Nuggets right now. Too many times, they look unprepared to handle something as simple as, say, a dribble hand-off on the wing six seconds into the...

You’ve seen Jamal Murray on fire before, like when the Nuggets’ 21-year-old starting point put 48 on the Boston Celtics, or last week in Phoenix when Murray scored 46 points on just 24 shots. But Murray has never been as hot as he was in tonight’s second half....
