In a continuation of our MLB Draft series, let’s examine the 2017 edition. 2018 MLB Amateur Draft Rockies 1st Round For the first time since 2009, the Colorado Rockies gained entry into the MLB playoffs courtesy of the second National League Wild Card. With apologies to Rookie level teams Boise and Grand Junction who begin their season after the MLB Draft in June, Thursday marks the first game of the season for four of the Rockies’ minor league affiliates on what Minor League Baseball calls Opening Night.
