BOULDER — The Buffs got their guy.
Colorado will hire Gerald Chatman as it’s next defensive line coach, according to The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman. Chatman, 33, has previous experience with Texas A&M, LSU, the Cincinnati Bengals and others. He was hired this offseason to be Tulane’s defensive line coach.

The Tulane job would have been Chatman’s first as the full defensive line coach. He was an assistant defensive line coach with the Bengals before joining LSU as a defensive analyst. When LSU hired Brian Kelly, he retained Chapman to his staff.
The defensive line coaching job at CU came open when Vic So’oto, 34, decided to leave for the same position at Cal on Monday. CU claimed So’oto left for family reasons, but So’oto refuted that claim. He was originally hired Dec. 30.
