Big news out of Georgia this afternoon.
As first reported by Nicki Jhabvala of The Athletic, Fulton County District Attorney Paul L. Howard Jr. released a statement on Wednesday announcing he would not prosecute Adam Gotsis, following allegations of an alleged rape while he was a student at Georgia Tech.
“After a careful and thorough investigation, The Fulton County District Attorney’s Office has decided not to proceed with the case against Mr. Adam Gotsis,” it said. “My office understands the sensitivity and significance of these investigations, but the evidence presented does not warrant any further action in this case.”
Gotsis was a sophomore at Georgia Tech when the alleged rape occurred. He turned himself into Atlanta police in March shortly after the accusations arose and he was charged with strong-arm rape. He’s been a full participant so far in training camp.
The Broncos drafted Gotsis in the second round of the 2016 draft. Since then, he has played in all 32 games and started 13 last season. He is listed as a starting defensive end on the current depth chart.
