Mel Brown is not interested in your short game. He’s more of a home-run hitter.
With 171 rushing yards on just nine carries Saturday night, the UConn transfer running back showed just how quickly he can change the dynamic of a game.
Brown had two different carries of 70 or more yards in the win, including a 73-yard touchdown and the longest non-scoring run in program history (80 yards). By the time it was all said and done, Brown finished the night with an average of 19 yards per carry, a couple of touchdowns and a highly impressive stat line.

I’m both extremely excited and terrified for this Saturday BYU game. Best year to catch them. Cannot imagine the reaping last year would have been. Counting blessings

I’ve been so impressed with the offense. Hauss is in total control and the playmakers are making plays!

I’m nervous about this one. The defense has been fine against Wyoming and SUU, but this is four steps above. I think the Rams can score on the Cougars, but I’m not sure the defense can get enough stops against the run or commit enough turnovers to keep the offense in the game. If I had to guess, the most likely scenario is something like 49-21 BYU. However, if the Rams can score at the same pace, CSU has a chance for the defense to get a critical turnover and maybe the BYU offense cools. I could see a win looking something like 49-45 CSU, but I’d put it at like 5%-10% odds. No one would be more happy to be wrong, but I want to set my expectations realistically and keep a level head for the Rams moving into UTSA and conference play.
