BOULDER — Another big man just joined the herd.
Offensive lineman Tyrone McDuffie III announced Monday that he is committed to the University of Colorado at a ceremony in his hometown of El Paso, Texas. He is one of 15 commits in CU’s 2023 recruiting class and one of three offensive linemen in the class.

McDuffie is a three-star prospect and the 84th-ranked interior offensive lineman in the 2023 class, according the 247Sports. He plays tackle at Parkland High School but at 6-foot-3 and 300 pounds, he projects better at center or guard at the next level. He’s a powerful blocker who has quick feet for his size.
McDuffie also had offers to Fresno State, UTEP and UTSA, among others.
Colorado now has 15 commits in the 2023 class, which ranks 28th in the country according to 247Sports. That number is bolstered by having the 11th-most commitments in the 2023 cycle, but two of the commits haven’t been rated yet. When those two are rated, CU should easily enter the top 25 and could enter the top 20 depending on who the recruits are rated.
Those rankings include tackle prospect Naquil Betrand, who released a new Top 10 list earlier this month after committing to CU. His future is up in the air, but the Buffs would have a solid offensive line trio of Betrand, McDuffie and tackle Drew Perez if he sticks with CU.
