ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Jerry Jeudy knows what he needs to do.

“The biggest thing really is just consistency,” Jeudy said at his camp at Englewood High School on Wednesday. “I know what I’m capable of doing and I’m capable of playing at a high level. It showed the last six games. The only thing now is just bringing those last six games into the new year and starting off strong and staying consistent.”

Jeudy’s last six games were great, but if you cut that down to his final five, he was even better. In that stretch, Jeudy led all NFL receivers in fantasy points, which combine total catches, yards and scores.

Now, with a little extra confidence in his back pocket, Jeudy has one of the best play callers in NFL history helping him out, in new head coach Sean Payton.

“He coaches me every way he can,” Jeudy said. “Every little detail he sees me mess up on, he gives me his opinion on it and thinks of ways for me to get better. I appreciate having a coach that’s dedicated to and is really helping me become the best player I can be.”

Jeudy and Payton have only worked together for a dozen practices, but Payton has already left an impression.

“He’s a great offensive-minded guy,” Jeudy said. “Him just putting players in the right positions just so we can be successful, the different alignments moving me around and stuff like that. Also, just having other guys around me, so it’s hard to just focus on me. We’ve got KJ, we’ve got Court, we’ve got Tim Patrick, we’ve got the running backs. There’s gonna be a lot of pieces that you’ve got to focus on and he knows what to do with.”

A four-wide receiver rotation of Jeudy, KJ Hamler, Courtland Sutton and Patrick has been a key piece of the offensive plan since 2020 when Jeudy and Hamler were drafted. But injuries have derailed that plan in each of the past three years to the point that the four receivers have hardly seen the field together.

“We haven’t been all on the same field since my rookie year,” Jeudy said. “It’s been a tough few years. Having everybody on the field at the same time is going to be big because I know what we’re capable of, and they know what we’re capable of. Having everybody on the same field, it’s gonna be a hard group of guys to stop.”

Don’t forget that the Broncos added second-round wide receiver Marvin Mims in April.

And definitely don’t forget that quarterback Russell Wilson could be due for a bounce-back season.

“His mentality, man,” Jeudy said. “Russ is a soldier. Just the way he handles his business, the way he handles situations, I know the type of guy he is and the type of stuff he can overcome.”
