Walker opted to leave the University of Colorado after two seasons to enter the 2022 NBA Draft. The decision was risky, considering he wasn’t a lock to be chosen in the draft, but Portland selected how with the penultimate pick on June 23.

Walker has played three Summer League games with the Blazers (with one more on the way Thursday night) and his talent has been obvious. Walker has played just under 20 minutes per game and produced 13 points, 8.3 rebounds and an assist per game. He’s made 68.2% of his shots, 37.5% of his 3-point shots and 66.7% of his free throws. The Trail Blazers have won the minutes he’s been on the court by 10 points.

The 6-foot-9 forward is was a first-team All-Pac-12 performer at CU. He was the league leader in double-doubles last season with 17.
