BOULDER — It’s almost go time.
The Colorado Buffaloes dropped a new roster on Monday, ahead of spring camp. The Buffs will hold 15 practices starting Wednesday and ending with the Spring Showcase on April 23. Two of those practices are open to the public.
Two names are absent from the roster: Jack Lamb and Josh Jynes. According to the Boulder Daily Camera’s Brian Howell, Lamb medically retired and Jynes will serve as a student assistant coach.
Lamb, an inside linebacker, joined the Buffs ahead of the 2021 season as a graduate transfer from Notre Dame. He was a highly-rated recruit but was mostly relegated to special teams duty following a major hip injury. Lamb was a reserve for the Buffs but injuries pushed him onto the field late in the season. His season highlight was a 94-yard forced fumble and return touchdown against Washington. He had two years of eligibility remaining.
Jynes was one of four junior offensive linemen on the roster. He saw extensive action at center in two games in the 2020 season but never cracked the CU lineup. He played eight snaps in 2021. Jynes would have been part of a deep competition to replace Colby Pursell at center this season.
In less important news, a bunch of players changed their numbers:
