BOULDER — We’re 99 days away from the opener and now we know what time the game will start.
The Pac-12 announced kickoff times and tv channels for the first three weeks of the upcoming football season on Thursday, as well as the times for a handful of other games throughout the season. FOX previously announced some of their kickoff times on Wednesday.
Here’s what we know about CU’s TV schedule and kickoff times so far:
Week 1: Fri., Sept. 2 vs. TCU, 8 p.m., ESPN
Week 2: Sept. 10 @ Air Force, 1:30 p.m., CBS
Week 3: Sept. 17 @ Minnesota, 1:30 p.m., ESPN2
Week 11: Fri., Nov. 11 @ USC, 7:30 p.m., FS1
The times and TV information for the other eight games will be announced either six days or 12 days before the game kicks off.
Colorado has avoided any appearances on Pac-12 Networks so far, which is a big win for the program. Of the 34 Pac-12 games in the first three weeks of the season, 15 are on Pac-12 Networks. Games broadcast on the conference network see much less viewership. Last year, Colorado played eight of its 12 games on the network. The Buffs only need one more of its games to be broadcast somewhere else to post a better mark in 2022.
The game against Air Force on CBS—the Buffs’ first appearance on the network since the 1996 Cotton Bowl—is on the opposite end of the spectrum. The 1:30 timeslot on CBS was one of the two most-watched games of the day in six of 13 weeks last season, though this game is unlikely to reach that mark. Still, it’s a great opportunity to gain exposure.
