Mack played one season at JuCo powerhouse East Mississippi Community College. The Mississippi native totaled 40 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, a sack and four interceptions in 10 games.
Mack primarily played safety and in the slot for the Lions. At 6-feet tall and 190 pounds, he figures to compete for a role at either of those spots in Boulder. Starting defensive backs Mark Perry, Christian Gonzalez and Mekhi Blackmon transferred out of Colorado, leaving plenty of opportunities.
Take a look at Mack’s freshman season for yourself:
Colorado also added Hankerson, a running back from national high school powerhouse St. Thomas Aquinas in Florida. He was a three-time 1,000-yard rusher as his team won three consecutive state titles. He earned offers to Georgia, LSU, Florida and plenty of other schools.
As noted above, Hankerson will join the Buffs for the 2023 season, after the eligibility of Alex Fontenot and Ramon Jefferson expires. That will leave Deion Smith, Jayle Stacks, Victor Venn and Hankerson on the roster. CU will likely add another running back or two between now and then.
