BOULDER — A playmaker is on his way to Colorado.
Wide receiver Edward Schultz announced Friday that he is committing to the University of Colorado. Schultz is the third CU commit in the 2023 recruiting class, joining defensive lineman Kam Bizor and quarterback Ryan Staub.

Schultz is a 6-foot-1, 195-pound burner out of J Serra Catholic in San Juan Capistrano, California. He’s a field-stretcher in the passing game that forces defenses to sit back and open up passing lanes underneath. His most notable contributions to this point in his career have come in the return game, where he was an all-conference selection.
Take a look for yourself:
While the recruiting rankings aren’t all that fond of Schultz—his .8416 composite rating from 247Sports would rank behind 21 of Colorado’s 24 recruits in the ’22 class—his offer sheet is jam-packed with notable names. Schultz chose Colorado over offers from schools like Oklahoma, Florida State and Texas A&M.
Schultz is the first commitment for new CU wide receivers coach Phil McGeoghan, who has brought a fearless approach to the recruiting trail.
