The Broncos offensive line took another hit on Sunday.

Veteran left guard Ronald Leary was injured during the Broncos’ contest with the Los Angeles Rams at Mile High. As first reported by our own Ryan Koenigsberg, the fear is that Leary tore his Achilles’ tendon, which would sideline him for the rest of the season. The 29-year-old will undergo an MRI to confirm.

The Broncos lost their most experienced lineman, Jared Veldheer, to a knee injury against the Chiefs and he has missed the two games since. Veldheer should be nearing a return, as there was talk he could be available on Sunday against the Rams.

Leary moved back to his traditional left guard spot this offseason after spending his first season in Denver at right guard. The move was supposed to help second-year left tackle Garett Bolles continue to adjust to the NFL.

Before moving to Denver, Leary played five seasons with the Cowboys. He signed with Dallas as an undrafted free agent in 2012 and was part of the dominant offensive line that led Ezekiel Elliott to a first-team All-Pro nod in his rookie year.

There is a potential out in Leary’s contract following this season. If the Broncos choose to part ways, they would take on less than $2 million of dead cap. They can also choose to keep the Baton Rouge native for up to two years at $8.5 million per season.
