Jonah Coleman was supposed to spend more time on the field on Friday.
“I think after that one run, we all said on the headset, ‘We’re good,” Denver Broncos offensive coordinator Davis Webb said on Tuesday.
That run was a 13-yarder that took some quick feet and a couple of broken tackles to create.
“He did what he needed to do,” Webb said.
Rookie fourth-round runners typically see more work than four carries in their first preseason game. The Broncos’ decision to sit Coleman down indicates that they think Coleman can be a weapon for them this season.
