Vance Joseph has another hole to fill in his coaching staff.

Broncos strength and conditioning coach Luke Richesson is heading to Houston to work in a similar role, though his official title hasn’t been released, according to 9News’ Mike Klis. Richesson had another year on his contract, but the Broncos granted the Texans permission to interview him for the job.

Richesson served as the Broncos’ strength and condition coach since 2012 and was named the NFL Strength and Conditioning Coach of the Year in 2013. Prior to joining the Broncos, Richesson spent three years as an assistant with the Jaguars.

Earlier this offseason the Broncos asked the Texans for permission to interview Wes Welker, an offensive and special teams assistant with Houston, for Denver’s wide receivers coach job. The Texans declined the request.

If Denver is to look in-house for a replacement, Anthony Lomando and Cedric Smith are strength and conditioning assistants that could get a look.
