Peyton Manning could see some familiar faces in Southern California while preparing for Wednesday’s ESPY Awards.

According to Emmanuel Sanders, Broncos wide receivers and quarterbacks are holding a passing camp this week in Los Angeles. Sanders also noted that Demaryius Thomas arranged the workouts, which marks the first time since the tradition’s inception that the camp wasn’t hosted by a quarterback.

“A couple guys are out there,” Sanders said Tuesday afternoon. “They’re throwing; they’re trying to get together and sling the football around a little bit. I told ‘em Wednesday I have a little time to throw, so hopefully, we can link up.”

Sanders will join his teammates in Los Angeles after his youth football camp at Northglenn High School ends on Tuesday.

The Broncos’ tradition of holding an offseason passing camp for offensive skill-position players began when Manning arrived in Denver in 2012. He held workouts each offseason at Duke University for quarterbacks and pass-catchers. Mark Sanchez continued the tradition, hosting a passing camp at USC last offseason.

This camp could be the last opportunity for Paxton Lynch and Trevor Siemian to build a rapport with offensive personnel before the quarterback competition officially kicks off on July 27, when the Broncos open training camp.

Both quarterbacks worked out this offseason with eyes set on the starting quarterback job. Siemian, the incumbent, recovered from postseason shoulder surgery to alleviate pain from an AC joint sprain suffered in October. He also held throwing sessions with Broncos wide receivers.

Lynch worked in Orlando with quarterback guru Charlie Taaffe prior to OTAs. He planned to spend more time with Taaffe prior to training camp.
