Broncos make a roster move

Two familiar faces were back at UCHealth Training Center on Tuesday.

The Broncos signed offensive tackle Leon Johnson, after waiving him last week to clear space for tackle Austin Fleer. The team had an open job after moving on from Menelik Watson on Monday. Second-year wide receiver Carlos Henderson was also back at Broncos headquarters after personal matters kept him away from the team during training camp.

Johnson is a 23-year-old undrafted free agent out of Temple. At 6-foot-5 and 315 pounds, he has the ideal build for a tackle but injuries derailed the end of his college career.

Henderson is currently on the Broncos’ “Did Not Report” list, which means he isn’t on their 90-man roster. If Denver wants to give him another chance to prove himself, they’ll need to release a player to clear the necessary space. He is also facing a one-game suspension following his arrest this offseason on marijuana possession charges.
