Leon Johnson’s short stint in Denver has come to an end.
The Broncos released the offensive tackle on Sunday to make room for another tackle, Austin Fleer. Johnson was eligible for this spring’s draft but wasn’t selected. He signed with the Broncos as an undrafted free agent.
Fleer is a Colorado native and played collegiately at Colorado Mesa University. He also went undrafted this spring and signed with the Bengals shortly after the draft. The Broncos claimed him off waivers shortly after his release from Cincinnati.
The 6-foot-7, 306-pound tackle competed at the University of Colorado pro day, which was attended by much of the Broncos’ front office. As a 23-year-old undrafted free agent, his best shot to stick around is likely with the Broncos’ practice squad.
