ENGLEWOOD — Crisis averted.
After two starters were injured during Monday morning’s training camp practice, both were back on the field for the afternoon walkthrough.
Garett Bolles went down after getting hit in the chin during red zone drills. He sat in the passenger seat of a trainer’s cart with his head bowed as he was driven from the field. He walked into the building under his own power but moved slowly and was reportedly feeling nauseous. Vance Joseph said the second-year left tackle would be evaluated for a head injury.
Brandon Marshall exited practice with trainers shortly after Bolles, with what Joseph later called a “minor, minor wrist injury.”
No official update on either injury has been given since Joseph’s post-practice press conference, but seeing both players back on the field for the afternoon session was a great sign; the league’s concussion protocol forbids players with concussions from participating in walkthroughs.
The only unexpected absentee from the walkthrough was Tramaine Brock who wasn’t listed in the post-practice injury report and was a full participant in the morning practice.
Expect an update from Joseph on all of the injury news following Tuesday’s practice, which will be the Broncos’ first in full pads.
