Excellent summary.

Yes, agree with 4pollo – excellent grades, Evan. Except possibly a bit harsh on Landy – I thought he was at least a C+.

If Jost was so tenacious, you’d think he’d get more than the least TOI on the team. How you give him a B+ and Landeskog a D is ridiculous.

He didn’t create that Z goal with a forecheck, he carried the puck in and lost it on the boards. It was on Dallas D stick, as Jost is smothered to the ice, and the puck squirted out to Namestnikov, who shoved it to Z. If you care to watch it, that’s what happened.

That’s why Jost didn’t get an assist. If he had won that puck on a good forecheck, I can understand the accolades, but he got beat on the puck. That play, theoretically, if you want to pump his tires, would give him a ton more TOI as the third liner, but it recedes. Why? Because Bednar knows he’s lost the battle for the puck and isn’t forechecking worth a shit.

This man crush on Jost you have is embarrassing to read. He’s been the worst forward on the Avs in the Dallas series, and it shows with consistent poor TOI. Logan O’Connor is getting way more TOI, 4 + more minutes, and has been better than Jost, as the fourth line outperforms the 3rd.

Calling anyone besides Namestnikov the worst forward in this series shows you maybe need to go back and watch more film as well. Valid criticisms of Jost get lost in your vitriol and hyperbole.

To be fair, the 4th line has been better than the 3rd pretty consistently.

Not quibbling with the grade but I thought Mikko looked particularly good last night (outside of the 4 min PP, where everyone on the top unit was off). He had a clever little slip pass to Burky in the first, and then another one to Mac in the same period, for example. And his points definitely weren’t cheap. Hope it’s a good sign.
