Zads was a huge stud tonite!!!! totally deserved the solid A grade. would have liked to see him crush Shelly tonite but maybe he was not letting that get in the way of playing a good game. and that goal… wow… its nice to see him score after being so good offensively before coming to the NHL. I thought he deserved some praise by Bednar in the post game, but he kinda deflected any praise and went all team oriented blah blah blah in his answer. it would have been a perfect opportunity to pump Z’s tires a bit and shower w some praise. but to be fair Bed’s also didnt expand on a Macky question either. *shrugs* GO AV”S GO!!!!!

I agree with you on how Bednar could’ve acknowledged Zadorov’s strong effort, especially given their less-than-smooth past. Would’ve been not only a confidence boost for Z, but a classy way of showing that any tension of the past is … well, in the past.

Thanks for the evaluations. Some slightly different ones: Compher too high, Girard too low (but yes, he’s definitely looked human of late), Varlamov too low (evidently you missed a couple very nice stops — e.g. coming out of the crease quite high to snag, etc.). And yes, Rantanen seems to be going through the equivalent of a hitting slump in baseball.

Not sure why Rantanen (a shooter) is playing setup guy behind the net while Kerfoot (a setup guy) is standing near the faceoff dot during the PP.

Barrie also got “beat up” several times in the D zone. I hope that his problems are from the injury, because he does not seem to be helping the team much. Lindholm surprised me with his play. He was better than I expected.

I think Lindholm got his stick lifted – I don’t think he whiffed.
