Really shows how pro sports can be a matter of timing and synchronization. If they won every game it would erase the drama.

3rd Bruins goal because JJ up high? Pretty trick when he’s not on the ice. It was 17, 42, 7, 56 and 95 on the ice.

That was a set play, taking advantage of a matchup. Bergeron vs. Jost. Boston knows everything favors Bergeron. He outright wins the face off, then knows he can physically engage Jost and beat him.

Off the face off, Bergeron immediately pushes Jost back then slides by to the front of the net with Jost lagging behind. A stronger physical center might engage or knock down Bergeron, but impossible with Jost’s weak game.

Ends up Bergeron is fronting Toews and DK, with Jost lost in space. Hall has circled from the left side of the circle to the sideboards and gets a pass with no one around him as his movement confuses MacDermid, who is left twirling about with Jost, around the circles with no Bruins they’re covering. Hall gets the puck to Pasternak who’s wide open and fires the puck past a Bergeron aided screen into the net.

That third goal is Boston understanding how easy it is to beat Jost on the face off and Bergeron confidently knowing he can manhandle Jost. Hall moves to get to the sideboards. Just as importantly, he clears the way for Bergeron , an opening only happening if Bergeron wins the one on one battle with Jost, and it isn’t a battle, it’s a shoo fly for Bergeron.

A play set entirely on Cassidy knowing the mismatch of Jost on Bergeron. Not a JJ up high thing, at all.

I was at the point of worrying about peaking too soon

Also concerned that 3 of last 4 were not good and is trending the wrong way. Lost to Dallas at home, Vegas great, squeaked by buffalo, destroyed by Boston.

Detroit will be a good directional test. 4 of 5 bad games means there’s something to look at.

I know getting giroux would push 1 good down to help bottom 6, might also move on from Jost/Compher

Or get 2 upgrades to Jost/Compher
There’s not a slam dunk out there
Which we don’t need
Upgrade
We need 55 not 45 nightly

Burakovsky is bad-very soft
Will cough it up most times
Tries to dangle between 3 guys at blue line regularly losing it
No goals in 16-move on
Contract year-most guys go off
(Looking at you Kadri)
