I didn’t watch the whole game, but something that stands out (not just recently) to me about Nuke is number one, he seems to consistently drive the net with the puck on his stick, and, two, he’s been willing to consistently take abuse in front of the net. Other than that, I hope the break gives the 3HM line a chance to catch their collective breath and reset.

It’s nice when the number one line gets a “D”, and they still win 7-3. Kudos to Nichushkin for really using his head. c}:-) Merry Christmas!

I wonder what the NHL record for goals scored off your face in a season and career is?

Thanks Evan. Have you thought of collating all the grades and developing a broader rating system? You could do YTD average. A rolling 1 month average, or last 10 games average. We could compare the various averages to gauge if a player is on the rise or tapering off etc. Sorry, don’t mean to make your job harder but might be good to mine this data since you are consistently producing game reviews.

I have to disagree about Girard. I thought he was great in this game. He was the lone man back on at least four 2 on 1s and made great reads to cause weak attempts on all of them. Plus he made a number of subtle great plays with the puck. He’s deserved some lower grades this season, but this game was not one of them.
