In my opinion the Avalanche have not recovered from the loss of Stastny and O’Reilly, I think the current team does play hard and care but playing hard does not make you a smarter player. I can’t think of a current forward on the roster that I would want on the ice over them when not making a defensive mistake is more important than what offensive you provide.

I agree. To lose both are huge. I’m not dwelling on Factor but losing him has set this team back but that is spilt milk now. Someone has to step up out of this core we have. Duchene took a huge step in that direction this year and I hate the timing on his injury. I still think there is potential in the guys especially when some of the younger guys get acclimated. JT Compher and Mikko have been tearing up there respective leagues and we do have some pretty decent D prospects for once. It’s not a thing fans want to hear but have more patience. There are some really good things being built here for once. I honestly can’t ever say I have been this excited about this many Avs prospects in one year, EVER! I believe changes are needed for sure, probably starting with some of our assistant coaches. But give Roy and Sakic a little more time. They have had much to fix with this organization and it is still a work in progress. God Damn I hate the Mild. Go Avs!

I have a lot of patience. Been a season ticket holder since day one and have renewed for next year. Even if they are a train wreck I find NHL hockey to be very entertaining. I hope they don’t piss off Mikko with sending him down just to save the year. Its the right thing to do except if your Mikko, He is good enough to be playing on the current Avalanche team and then playing him on the 4th line was not really giving him a fair chance to shine. I don’t think we will see much more growth out of Duchene. After 7 seasons I think we pretty much know what we got. I think he is a speedy scoring winger that can can’t always be trusted in the defensive end. I think MacKinnon is key to any quick turn around. Except for changing the lines too much I like Roy the coach. Not so sure about the Roy/Sakic as GMs. I haven’t liked too many of their trades.
