During a speech in Alabama, Friday night, President Donald Trump voiced his displeasure with NFL players protesting the national anthem.

“Wouldn’t you love to see one of these NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, to say, ‘Get that son of a b**** off the field right now,” Trump said. “Out! He’s fired. He’s fired!”

Trump’s inflammatory comments sparked a wave of responses from across the league. Before their contest with Chicago, the entire Pittsburgh Steelers team waited in the locker room until the anthem concluded.

As for the Denver Broncos, more than 30 players were part of a pre-game demonstration in response to Trump’s remarks. Brandon Marshall, who knelt last season in support of his college teammate Colin Kaepernick, and Von Miller knelt at the center of the protest. Rookie left tackle Garett Bolles placed his left hand on Miller’s shoulder while standing for the anthem. Derek Wolfe also stood nearby.

Other Broncos sat with their arms around each other, Shaq Barrett stood with a raised fist.
