JL Skinner made the best play of his NFL career in the final seconds of the Denver Broncos‘ 28-24 win over the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.
DNVR caught up with the 25-year-old safety to talk about the tackle and everything else that has happened during his fourth NFL season.
Q: What happened on that goal-line tackle?
Skinner: It ain’t really nothing to it. Just make the tackle. Hit the gap. It’s just a typical play, honestly. It wasn’t really too crazy. Just a good tackle, for sure.
Q: Where does that rank among your favorite plays?
Skinner: Probably top five, for sure. I’ve had a couple good plays, a couple big hits. But in the league, for sure, No. 1.
It’s all a blur, just playing football. Just don’t want to lose. I hate to lose more than I like winning. Hopefully add some more.
Q: What was it like to have that game come down to first-and-goal from the 3 with Patrick Mahomes out there?
Skinner: Yeah, man. They had a lot of chances, too. It was crazy, for sure. It was a roller coaster of a game. Fun game, though. One of the games of the year, for sure.
Q: How much do you think about being in a contract year?
