An NBA All-Star forward could be heading the Mile High City, thanks to help from Denver Broncos linebacker Brandon Marshall.

Matt Moore of CBS Sports reported that several Broncos stopped by the Nuggets’ meeting with free agent Paul Millsap last night in Atlanta and Brandon Marshall

Millsap, who “grew up a Broncos fan,” enters free agency on a four-year All-Star Game streak. The 32-year-old stretch four is a candidate for a max contract worth nearly $150 million over four seasons. He is considered the best remaining power forward on the free-agent market, due to his defensive prowess and well-rounded offensive game.

While the Broncos have repeatedly struck gold in free agency in recent year—signing numerous Pro Bowlers and at least two future Hall of Famers—the same cannot be said for their neighbors across the Platte River. Antonio McDyess, who signed with the Nuggets in 1999, was the Nuggets’ last All-Star acquired via free agency. The recruiting boost provided by Marshall, McKenzie and possibly others could help Denver’s reputation as a fly-over city among NBA circles.
