Changes are coming to the Broncos’ secondary.
Cornerback Adam Jones announced on Instagram that he had been released by the team, Tuesday afternoon. ESPN confirmed that Jones had been released. The 14-year veteran previously played for the Titans, Cowboys and Bengals. He was the sixth-overall pick in the 2005 NFL Draft.
Jones joined the Broncos early this season when it was apparent the Broncos were short on depth at cornerback. He rotated with fellow veteran Tramaine Brock as the third cornerback in Denver.
Jones also returned kicks and punts for the Broncos, so those jobs will be up for grabs. Rookie running back Phillip Lindsay has been the team’s most productive returner, but coaches may be hesitant to put him in harm’s way. Running back Devontae Booker and received DaeSean Hamilton will also be candidates.
This could open the door for Brendan Langley to return to the active roster after spending all of this season on the practice squad. He was a third-round draft pick in 2017 but didn’t impress during his rookie season. Langley also has experience as a kick returner.
Isaac Yiadom could also see more run, following Jones’ departure. The rookie played poorly during the preseason, but with the Broncos’ season falling apart, they could want to see more from their young guys.
On Monday, head coach Vance Joseph said the team would bring in five linemen to compete for Max Garcia’s roster spot, after Garcia was placed on injured reserve. The team’s decision is still unknown, but another roster move should be on the way.
*Update (5:11 p.m.)*
The Broncos are signing offensive tackle Cyrus Kouandjio to fill Garcia’s roster spot. He was a free agent but played for the Broncos last season and was with the team this offseason. He was a second-round draft pick in 2014.

BSN…how about a bit of proofreading prior to posting a story. Thank you
Ryan Koenigsberg
Every story goes through an editing process before it is posted. I also just read this one twice and can’t seem to find the errors you are referring to. Either way, sorry about that, we take the quality of our work very seriously.
