It’s cut day.
The Broncos have until 2 pm Saturday to cut their roster from 90 players to 53. Once players who are cut clear waivers 24 hours later, Denver will have a chance to build their 10-man practice squad.
From 2004-2014, at least one undrafted free agent made the Broncos’ opening day roster. Kyle Peko restarted the streak in 2016 and Jamal Carter made the roster out of camp last year. This year, former Colorado running back Phillip Lindsay has the best shot at the roster of the college free agents, but Jeff Holland also has a chance.
Here’s an updated list of Broncos who have been cut so far:

*Note: The roster was at 88 before the first cuts as Jerrol Garcia-Williams was placed on IR and the team was only carrying 89 when that happened.

I would be very surprised if he gets cut, particularly after the way he played in Phoenix.

But he only made 2 or 3 passes downfield, everything else was within a yard or two of the line of scrimmage. Hopefully some play calling to make him seem a valid trade target!

If GMJE can trade Lynch for a jock strap, it would be amazing. Other GM’s saw his 2 yard passes in the most meaningless 2 quarters of the season, not just the fans. Promise.

I’m unsure if I’ll be able to say in Elway we trust if Lynch isn’t cut. I’ve defended Lynch until now in fact I said 3 months ago or so to a fellow Broncos fan from my area that I was ok with trading Trevor over him. He has to go point blank if you want a trade trade a conditional 7th and him for a conditional 7th I really don’t care.

If we go into the season with DollaWAG Kelly and Paxton Lynch at 2 and 3, I think it’ll make our QB situation worse: If Chelly goes in knowing he’s one mistake away from being benched, he’s likely to play cautiously, just as he did after throwing the pick in Arizona. He was clenched up like he was trying to make it to the toilet instead of to the end zone.
