BOULDER — Time to cancel your plans for September 2037.

Colorado announced seven new football games Thursday that will take place between 2025 and 2037. The games will be played against four different opponents; Wyoming, SMU, North Texas and Oklahoma State.

The first new game on the schedule is against Wyoming on Sept. 20, 2025. This date was originally filled by Colorado’s home contest with Missouri, but that game was moved to 2031 because the Tigers needed to open a date on its schedule to play Kansas. Colorado has an all-time 24-2-1 record against the Cowboys but hasn’t played them since 2009, and has only played them six times since 1947.

Colorado also added a home-and-home series with Southern Methodist University, with games being played Aug. 31, 2030 in Boulder and Sept. 6, 2031 in Dallas. The game in Boulder will be both teams’ season opener and the second meeting will be in the second week of the season. The teams have never played each other before.

Colorado added another home-and-home with a Dallas-area school for the following two seasons; CU will host North Texas on Sept. 4, 2032 and will head to Denton on Sept. 3 2033. Both games are season openers. Colorado beat UNT 52-21 at home in 2004, the only other time the teams have played.

Adding two series with Texas schools is big news for Colorado, given the importance of recruiting the state. Although North Texas may not be a premier opponent, scheduling another trip to Dallas is valuable.

The final home-and-home announced Thursday was a series with Big Eight rival Oklahoma State. Games are scheduled for Sept. 13, 2036 in Stillwater and Sept. 12, 2037 in Boulder. OSU beat CU 38-8 in the 2016 Alamo Bowl but Colorado holds a 26-20-1 series lead.

Single-game, multi-game and season tickets are available for the 2021 season are available now.
