BOULDER — The Buffs hot streak has been rewarded.
The Pac-12 announced Monday that Colorado point guard KJ Simpson is this week’s conference freshman of the week. The award is Simpson’s second this season. Guard Julian Hammond III also won the award earlier this year.
The Buffs spent the week on the road, playing games against Oregon State, Cal and Stanford. Colorado on all three of the games and Simpson, of course, was a key contributor.
Simpson scored 39 points on 44% shooting. He added nine rebounds, four assists, two steals and a block, all while playing just under 20 minutes per game.
The Buffs are back at home this week to take on Arizona State on Thursday and No. 2 Arizona on Saturday at the CU Events Center.
