1. Zeke Nnaji continues to demonstrate great fundamentals and attention to detail on the defensive end. In the clip below, he closes out on Carmelo Anthony quickly and under control before taking a great angle to cut off Anthony’s drive toward the basket.
2. Nnaji does a good job of staying locked in both mentally and physically. The mental aspect is reading the court and anticipating the next steps. The physical aspect is about being prepared to move quickly from one rotation to the next.
3. Nnaji is also great at passing up bad or mediocre field goal attempts.
4. Carmelo is a master of these sort of micro attacks off of the dribble.
5. Michael Porter Jr.’s length and athleticism elevates his defensive impact more than most people realize. At least once or twice a game he gets a deflection. steal, or blocked shot like the one below in large part because of how much ground he can cover with just a step or two.
6. Surrounding Jokic with high IQ playmakers and floor spacers makes for some beautiful basketball.
7. Few things more beautiful to watch than the Jokic-Murray two-man game. These two guys are so perfectly in sync.
8. You’ve got to love Facu Campazzo trying to take two charges in the same defensive possession.
