BSN Denver has confirmed that Super Bowl MVP Von Miller will not be attending the Denver Broncos offseason program that begins Monday at Dove Valley. Miller, who the Broncos placed the Franchise Tag on earlier on the offseason, has yet to sign the tender that would pay him $14.129 million because he believes he deserves more… and he’s right.

On the positive side, the two sides are still working towards terms they can both agree to on a long-term extension.

Miller’s decision to skip out on the offseason program is far from unprecedented, the last three players the Broncos have placed the franchise tag on, Matt Prater, Ryan Clady and Demaryius Thomas all skipped out on the offseason program as well and all three of them reached an agreement on a long term extension well before the Broncos took the field to open the season.

The two sides have until July 15 to reach an agreement on that long-term extension before Miller would be forced to play this season on the Franchise Tag tender of just over $14 million.

This news comes out on a day that has been deemed “Von Miller Day” by the Mayor of Von’s hometown, DeSoto, Texas. All part of “The offseason of Von.” Miller will continue his quest on Dancing With the Stars Monday.
