With the support of our community, BSN Denver gives back to underprivileged families in Colorado

When we opened December by announcing that 20 percent of all sales in the first week of the month would go to helping provide Christmas gifts for kids in need, we had no idea our community would respond the way they did. Not only did they buy a large number of subscriptions and merchandise, one subscriber actually started a GoFundMe page to raise additional funds.

Well, we wanted to show all of our amazing subscribers and customers where that money went.

We ended up raising over $3,000 for these kids, and after partnering with A Precious Child, it ended up becoming something special for a couple deserving families, as well.

After meeting APC’s founder, Carina Martin, our first order of business was to help with Christmas gifts for teens. It turns out that the vast majority of people who donate gifts, think of “kids” as small children, which is understandable. But they really needed stuff for teens!

We were given a list of the most-requested items from these families and we made sure to get two to four of every single item.

We purchased gift cards to clothing stores and Starbucks, balls for multiple sports, baseball and softball mitts, cologne, perfume, headphones, drones, Bluetooth speakers, water bottles, hats, gloves, makeup, socks, and more.

The next mission was to help a few families directly. That was something that we felt very passionate about.

With the help of Carina and her team, we were able to pick out two amazing families that certainly deserved our help, and surprise them with a $500 gift card to help them through the season. We must admit, there wasn’t a dry eye in the place after that.

The rest of the money was donated directly to A Precious Child, but our work wasn’t done. We spent the afternoon on Tuesday the 18th volunteering at their amazing facility, helping families that were entering to receive the donations they were awarded.

All in all, it was one of, if not the most rewarding experience we’ve had since we started this company and it was all thanks to the amazing support provided by our community.  Thank you so much for supporting us and allowing us to be able to help those in need in our great state.
