Denver is deep on the defensive side of the ball. Especially at the pass-rush position, as well as at cornerback.
DeMarcus Ware went out of the game due to a back injury in the second quarter and didn’t return. That meant more playing time for Shaquil Barrett, second year player out of Colorado Sate University, and first-round defensive end Shane Ray.
Each made an impact on the game, as did Von Miller with his sack and football stealing hit, and Chris Harris with his 75-yard touchdown return.
For Barrett, the sack came in the third quarter when the Broncos sent too many men to be blocked by the Oakland Raiders, and Carr was taken to the ground.
The Raiders quarterback was sacked four times on the day, Oakland fumbled twice and Carr threw an interception as well. Denver won 16-10 thanks to dominant defense and improved to 5-0.
