Rashard Higgins is a receiver on another level.
Last year, as a sophomore, Higgins was named a consensus All-American. Lately, he’s been displaying those skills again for the Colorado State Rams.
Though he’s only a junior, Higgins became the CSU all-time leader in receptions with 224 on Saturday afternoon against the New Mexico Lobos in Albuquerque.
Higgins ran a 10-yard out route well and Stevens put the ball on him, allowing No. 82 to move upfield for a total of 13 yards. This play set up a Dalyn Dawkins run first down.
This 224th reception passed David Anderson for No. 1 in CSU history
A few plays later, Higgins put another highlight on his film. This time, it was a 31-yard catch from Stevens up the seam of the field. Look at him attack the ball at its height for No. 225 of his career.
It should be noted that Anderson, who had 223 receptions, played from 2001-2005, a full four-year college career. Anderson also was drafted into the NFL by the Houston Texans in the seventh round, playing from 2006-2010 with them.
Higgins should expect to be drafted, too, whether it’s after this season or if he finishes out and plays his senior season at CSU.
