There were very few highlights for Peyton Manning on Sunday, as he struggled through his worst start in a Denver Broncos jersey, but there was a special one.
Manning passed Brett Farve in career passing yards Sunday when he connected with Ronnie Hillman on a four-yard out pattern.
Then, the NFL stopped the game, which the quarterback wasn’t very happy about.
“I think that’s an awkward situation to have any type of stoppage in play in the middle of a game,” Manning said. “I wasn’t off to the best start. We were looking at a third and long or something coming up. So, I think it’s an awkward situation to be put in to tell you the truth.”
This play came after Manning threw his first interception of the day, an under thrown ball to Vernon Davis on the Broncos third play from scrimmage. When it was all said and done, Manning threw four interceptions and was pulled from the game mid-way through the third quarter.
Broncos head coach Gary Kubiak said he should have not played Manning, but he also explained that Manning will be the starter next week if healthy.
