Ram Fam 16 is shaping up to be a big-time class for Colorado State Football.
Earlier this week, four defensive backs — including three JUCO transfers — committed to CSU, and then Nevada’s top prospect, defensive end Anthony Smith, signed up too.
Finally, Friday night was the cherry on top of the week as Faton Bauta announced his transfer to Colorado Sate from the University of Georgia. Bauta, a junior eligibility-wise but a graduate student, can play immediately for the Rams and will provide some steep competition for redshirt sophomore Nick Stevens this upcoming spring, summer and fall. Bauta was originally recruited by Mike Bobo at Georgia and was mostly the team’s third-string quarterback during his tenure there; he’ll have an opportunity to compete for the starting spot in Fort Collins.
And, on top of all that, there’s even more reason to be excited if you’re a part of Ram Nation; his name is Rashaad Boddie.
Boddie, a senior out of Wammamish, Washington, committed to Colorado State on Sept. 17. Last night, Boddie tweeted this out, saying it was a “perfect official visit.”

Then, Ben Aaker tweeted out this glorious gif of Boddie hitting the truck stick and flattening an opponent:
Looking forward to @BigBoddie28 bringing the hitstick to the #CSURams next year. WATCH THIS: https://t.co/F2gMzeDMHF https://t.co/TWhUEHh6mi

The force is strong with this one.
Boddie could have given up and gone down at the one. Instead, he lowered his head and exploded through the would-be tackler only to walk into the end zone.
According to his Scout profile, he’s a 6-foot-1, 221-pound running back who runs a 4.60 40-yard dash. The 3-star recruit brings a combination of size and speed which will only aid Bobo’s run-first offense and Boddie along with this year’s freshman sensation Izzy Matthews could provide a strong one-two punch in the near future.
Check out this interview with Boddie before the 2014 season:
And here’s Boddie during his senior season, talking about why he chose Colorado State:
“The thing I liked most about that school, the undergrads,” Boddie said. “I mean, school comes first. I would like to be an athletic trainer, train other athletes. They have a new head coach there, Coach Bobo, the offensive coordinator from Georgia…So, he’s bringing his running game to that program in the Mountain West conference.
“Ever since Todd Gurley was there, I watched him a lot,” Boddie said of Bobo’s history with remarkable running backs. “Looking at Georgia highlights from the past and everything.”
Starting in 2016, Boddie hopes to continue that legacy of running back success under Bobo.
