Isaiah Thomas returned to Boston Monday for the first time as an active player since he was traded from the Celtics to the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2017. In the first quarter, his former franchise showed just how much they still appreciate Thomas with a tribute video which was followed by a standing ovation from the TD Garden crowd.
Thomas, who was jettisoned from the Nuggets’ rotation over a week ago, was inserted into the game midway through the first quarter and played seven first-half minutes, finishing with two assists.
