DENVER — Walt Weiss has stepped down as the manager for the Colorado Rockies. It was announced this morning through the Rockies public relations team that Weiss will not be returning as the manager in 2017.
He spent the last four season in Colorado and compiled a record of 283-365.
There is a long list of names for potential replacements for Weiss, including Bud Black and former Rockies like Gabe Kapler or even Jason Giambi who has said he would like to manage. It will be fascinating to see if the Rockies aim high and are willing to pay the price for an elite manager.
More on this story as it develops.
