High praise today at Dove Valley for perhaps the Broncos’ best player. Von Miller has been named to the 2015 AP all pro team, the only Broncos player recognized.

“It’s the highest honor you can get in this business and he’s really played that way,” Broncos head coach Gary Kubiak said. “Very proud of him.”

Miller might’ve put together his best season as a pro but his second lowest sack total in his 5 year career. “We lead the league in sacks and Von was the catylist,” said defensive coordinator Wade Phillips on his all pro linebacker. “He got a lot of sacks and drew a lot of double teams.”

Phillips coached his unit to the top mark in a plethora of categories in his first year as defensive coordinator and thinks, like Miller, his group deserved more credit. “I thought we would be represented a little more than that in the first team. Im surprised that the no. 1 pass defense didn’t get a first team all pro in the secondary,” Phillips said. “Im surprised both Chris (Harris JR.) and Aqib (Talib) weren’t both first team. When you give up the least amount of passing yards, somebody is covering them.”

Chris Harris JR., was named to the AP second team, but came up short in first team voting.

Harris is still working towards that goal and is focused on potentially proving himself again against teams the Broncos had struggles with. “Anytime you can get a rematch with a team that beat you, you want that. I’ll take any of them.”

The Broncos will spend the next few days watching Wild Card Weekend to find out who they’ll host in the AFC divisional round on January 17th at Sports Authority Field at Mile High.
