On Wednesday evening, Denver Broncos linebacker and Super Bowl 50 MVP, Von Miller welcomed hundreds of kids into Sports Authority Field for the Von’s Vision Reveal Party. Von’s Vision was founded by Miller in 2012 with the mission to better the vision of Denver-area youth by providing them needed eye examination and eyewear to succeed in the classroom and in life.

Before revealing “frames,” as he likes to call them, to the hundreds of kids in attendance, Miller met with media in attendance—the main focus, of course, other than the kids, was the Miller’s contract negotiations with the Broncos and his current absence from team workouts.

“It’s really not a message that I’m trying to send,” Miller said of that absence. “My teammates know what type of teammate I am, they know what type of guy I am… It’s just the business part of it, there’s really no hard feelings or anything like that. They know what type of guy I am, they know what type of person I am.”

Miller did admit, though, it hasn’t been easy to be away from his teammates.

“It’s hard not being around my guys, it’s definitely hard,” he told. “I haven’t seen those guys in two or three months and we had a special season, I spent every day with those guys, I want to be wit those guys but, you know, business is business.”

The superstar maintained the “no hard feelings” message throughout, along with the smile folks in Denver have become so used to. He also made sure to clarify any reading between the lines of his social media message to Josh Norman that “the good guys won” when Norman signed his new contract.

“Josh Norman is a good guy,” he said frankly. “He’s a good guy, whenever you see one of the good guys win it’s a good feeling.”

A reporter then asked if that means John Elway is the bad guy.

“No (laughs) this guy right here,” he said with a smile, gesturing towards the asker of the question. “No, it has nothing to do with my situation.”

Anytime the Super Bowl MVP isn’t around the facility it’s going to raise concerns within the fanbase but it’s becoming more apparent around town that these things usually take time. The two sides have until mid-July to come to an agreement before Miller would be forced to play under the franchise tag.

“There really hasn’t been too much movement and it’s fair,” Miller said of the progressions of recent. “This is the draft this week, we have a lot of stuff going on with the draft but I’m just working out, dancing, trying to be the best I can with that and letting everything else take care of itself.”

Despite the stall, Von is still confident that a deal will be done soon.

“I’m expecting any day,” he told. “That’s just the type of mindset that I have. I don’t have any hard feelings about it, I’m just training, running, staying in shape so whenever the time comes I’ll be ready to go.”

For now, the Super Bowl star is leaving the money-talk to the experts.

“If I could go in there, do agent stuff and represent myself I would do that but that’s just not my field,” he explained. “My field is getting after the quarterback and keeping the locker room together. I leave it to my agent, that’s why I have those guys in that position, I trust those guys to represent me and represent how I feel about the whole situation, they’ve done a great job to this point.”

The frame-wearing athletic freak has been on a media tour for the ages since he was named MVP of the Big Game, touring the country at different events and appearing on any TV show you can imagine. “The Wave” as he and his teammates call it has been great, but for the last few days, it’s been nice to be back in the Mile High City.

“Oh yeah, it feels great, it feels great,” said Miller. “Going to my house, seeing some of my teammates, T.J.[Ward], [Aqib] Talib, Kavon [Webster], Cyrus Gray, all the guys, to be able to see them and be around them has been great.”

Miller will return to LA in the coming days where he and his partner Whitney Carson have reached the final eight on Dancing With The Stars and while Von’s not sure if all the new moves will translate to the football field, he is sure of one thing.

‘I think it’ll make my sack dances, my sack celebrations a whole lot better,” he said with a laugh. “I think I’ll have some exciting stuff in the fall.”

First, they’ll have to take care of the excitement in the negotiations room, but all signs point to that being taken care of without much pain.
