Von Miller defends Kanye's SNL outburst

If there’s one person who’s been making more waves than Von Miller recently it’s Kanye West. Let’s be clear, these are very different waves — Von is simply riding his waves, while Kanye is creating slightly more destructive “Tidal” waves (I’ll show myself out).

Coincidentally enough, the two stars were both featured on this past weekend’s episode of Saturday Night Live. While Von was there to simply explain the science behind, well . . . waves — Kanye, once again, was rocking the boat.

In audio obtained by PageSix.com, West can be heard losing his mind a bit about the stage he was set to perform on, reminding those around him of his importance.

During his massive ESPN tour yesterday, the Super Bowl MVP stopped by to chat with Ryen Russillo and Adnan Virk, the radio pair asked him about his behind-the-scenes look at the rapper’s outburst.

“He definitely wanted control of the camera angles which is understandable,” Miller explained. “There’s levels to art, Kanye’s audio is one thing but the visual aspect of it is truly an art, he’s an artist. When you have art and you have somebody displaying it a different way than you would I can see where the anger comes from.”

“I was there and, in my opinion, I think he was upset with the visuals,” the Broncos linebacker added. “He had a very particular way of the visual and how he wanted it to look, the camera angle and how he wanted it to look and when they started the show it was different.”

It’s safe to say Von took a very different view of the situation than the masses of people accosting Kanye for his actions.

“I was in my dressing room and they have a live feed of what’s going on on the stage, it was like a little walkthrough and he had total control of everything,” he told. “It was special for me to see a true artist in his element, you know, usually people don’t get to see football players in their element, they think seeing us on the football field or seeing us on the sideline is our true element but, honestly, inside the locker room with our guys and practice is our true element. If you get to see that, you get to see exactly hat football players do and what they’re like. Seeing Kanye in his element was definitely  a moment that I’ll take with me for the rest of my life.”

A mile in the shoes of a fan

Surely, Von Miller has had thousands of fans come up to him asking for pictures, autographs, the works. On Saturday, the NFL star found himself standing in their shoes, with West’s green room just down the hall from his. The Super Bowl MVP wanted to get his “Yeezys,” Kanye’s signature shoe, signed by the man himself.

“Initially, I just sent the shoe over there with the host who had me on Saturday Night Live,” he explained. “She took it over there and it got denied, it took about 45 minutes and then I got the shoe back and she was like, ‘Something happened where I couldn’t get the shoe signed,’ so I was like, ‘I’m gonna go over there personally and get the shoe signed.'”

“I rushed over there and I was like, ‘Aye Kanye, can you sign the shoe for me?’ He was like, ‘Yeah man, I got you,'” Miller added.

There was just one problem.

“I was like, ‘You got a sharpie?'” Miller had nothing for West to sign his shoe with.

“Kim had this look on her face like, ‘Come on.'”

“I hate when people come to me and ask for autographs and they’re not prepared so that definitely showed me the other side of things,” he admitted. “I wasn’t prepared, I was super nervous, I ran back to the front desk, got a sharpie, came back and he was still there. I thought he was going to leave because that’s what I probably would do, I probably would’ve snuck off but he stayed there, signed an autograph for me and I have it on display right now.”

The whole experience made Miller a bigger fan of “KimYe” as a whole.

“I’m still a huge fan, I’m even more of a fan now that I got to meet him and bow that I got to see exactly what it’s like,” He told. “I would’ve liked the welcome to be a little bit better than it was but Kim was great she actually made everything happen, she was like, ‘Sign this,’ or, ‘Turnaround he’s talking to you,’ so if it wasn’t for her than I probably would have had no success so now I’m a huge Kim Kardashian fan for sure.”

“You see the pictures and you see how beautiful it is but she’s like 10 times more attractive in person,” he said with a laugh. “It was definitely a great experience meeting Kim Kardashian and getting my Yeezy shoes signed by Yeezy which he probably never, ever does.”

Von likely won’t bail the next time a fan forgets their sharpie.
