Considering all the changes surrounding Colorado State Rams men’s basketball, there’s soon to be a giant influx of talent on the hardwood inside Moby Arena next year.

And, while it’s tough to say for sure, the player Ram fans will likely be most excited to see is a guy who says, “@imnotexcited_” on Twitter, Devocio Butler. The sophomore shooting guard who played the last two years at Hill College in Lamar Hillsboro, Texas said goodbye to the old gym, Bob Bullock Sports Center recently with these final shots.

First off, making that runner is harder than you’d think. Go out to the local blacktop and try it out. Second, his ball handling is stellar. Butler’s smooth, dribbling between his legs with ease. Finally, his jumpshot has superb rhythm and looks pure from outside the arc.

And it’s a good thing he practices those moves, as some of them came in handy during games. Here are two 30-second clips of Butler playing for Snow in 2015-16. As you can see, he can score in a variety of ways; by getting to the rack for a layup, by pulling up with a cross and step-back jumper or by dunking on the opposition in transition.

Yeah, this guy is going to get people jumping out of their seats at Moby next year.

Simply stated, Colorado State has been missing incredibly athletic young men for a few years now. His ability to slice through defenders, to create off the dribble and to dunk it in opponents’ faces in transition will translate into exciting and effective play for the Rams starting this fall.

Butler, a sophomore, is immediately eligible to play and it’s unclear what Colorado State’s starting lineup will look like as they still have two more scholarships to fill. But, if they don’t find a way to get this kid on the court every game, it’s a mistake.

Last season, in 29 games, Butler averaged 17.1 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game as Hill went 21-8 with him in the lineup. In a 103-83 win over Cedar Valley last December, Butler enjoyed his season-high with 32 points and added eight rebounds. Nearly two months later, his 30-point, 9-rebound night helped his team to an 86-80 victory over Weatherford.

Soon, CSU fans will get to see “Voc” in the green and gold, which will look something like this:
