OMISSIONS – The Colorado Buffaloes took the loss on Super Bowl Sunday, in unbearable effort against California. Dropping 77-66, Colorado was far from golden on and off the court as Wes Gordon and Xavier Johnson sat due to a violation of team rules.

Behind a 19-0 run Cal got out to a 41-26 halftime lead.

A 17-2 run in the second half saw the Buffaloes cut the lead to a mere seven points.

Once again it was Derrick White leading the Buffaloes as he finished with 25 and the senior kept CU with a constant effort that improved throughout the course of the contest. Eventually Colorado cut it to just fine with less than three minutes left.

With 2:30 left Cal hit the dagger with a three pointer by Grant Mullins which stretched the home team’s lead to eight and Colorado couldn’t cut it back to within two possessions.

Ultimately it wasn’t enough as Cal topped Colorado  77-66 via their dominance on the boards and in second chance points.
