Tyler Anderson out at least 4 weeks

Colorado Rockies left-handed pitcher Tyler Anderson, after pitching just two and a third innings on a return from the 10-day Disabled List, will undergo arthroscopic knee surgery and is expected to miss at least four weeks, according to Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post:

This comes as a tough blow to the Rockies who have started to feel the effects of having such a young and inexperienced pitching staff. The lack of length from the rotation lately has hurt the bullpen especially. Anderson was arguably Colorado’s best pitcher a season ago — pitching 114.1 innings with a 3.54 ERA — and it is absolute to their benefit to make sure he is at his best in the latter half of the season, but this news certainly won’t help stop the bleeding on a team now on a six-game losing streak.

Jon Gray is still expected to return in the upcoming Arizona Diamondbacks series, and Chad Bettis is out there on the horizon, but the Colorado Rockies will need to look to the hands on deck in order to right the ship.
