Amidst much speculation that the relationship between the Denver Nuggets and Ty Lawson has grown weary, Lawson is voicing his desire to play elsewhere on social media.
Fantastic job by Denverstiffs.com for catching this story first. They screencaped a Ty Lawson instagram post that has since been deleted, of he and his daughter flying together somewhere.
Pretty innocent post for the most part, but within the comments lies the controversy.
A commenter suggested Ty Lawson should come to Dallas and “side” with many of their stars. With Rajon Rondo entering free agency, the Mavs will be in need of a player to run the point for a heavily stacked roster. Lawson went out of his way to respond to this commenter, attaching his Instagram handle before responding with the words “I wish”.
The only issue with this idea is Lawson is still under contract and is to be paid $25.6 million dollars over the next two years to play basketball for the Denver Nuggets. Lawson has been given every opportunity to become the face of the Nuggets franchise and team leader, but between riffs with coaches and arrests off the court, it may be time for the Nuggets to grant him his wish this offseason and find somewhere else for him to collect his checks.
